The 2023 season was the best yet for 23XI Racing with both Bubba Wallace and Tyler Reddick making the NASCAR Playoffs. However, both drivers probably feel as though they came up short. In the New Year, some resolutions could help them find even more success in 2024.
As far as 23XI Racing goes as a whole – there are a few organizational resolutions that could help the team in more ways than one. You have Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan as owners, there is a lot of marketability there for fans and haters alike.
The new AirSpeed facility is almost complete, the new home of 23XI. A huge testament to the growth they have had over the last few years. The team actually had their own set of resolutions, but here are the ones I had in mind, they aren’t too different.
23XI Racing Resolutions:
– Use your new resources effectively
– More MJ at races during the season
– Get both drivers into the playoffs
– Continue to move “Forward Together”
23XI Racing actually has a new logo design. The font has changed a bit and it’s a newer, simpler look. Hopefully, that is a sign of an organization that is continually embracing the future and its “Forward Together” motto.
Michael Jordan being at so many races, especially in the playoffs, was great for NASCAR. More Jordan throughout the year would be even better. Of course, having both teams back in the playoffs is a must for 2024.
23XI Racing Driver Resolutions
Bubba Wallace had a career-best finish in the points standings this season. He was 10th overall, but without a win on the season, it felt a little hollow. Tyler Reddick also had a career-best finish, 6th overall. At one point looked like a Championship 4 lock, but also fell short of his ultimate goal.
In the New Year, both drivers can improve overall with a few resolutions of their own.
Tyler Reddick Resolutions:
– Have a career-high in wins
– Flex road course muscles
– Finish the Daytona 500
– Make the Championship 4
Reddick could best his career-high in wins in 2024. I think a William Byron type breakout could happen for him and this 23XI Racing team this season. He’s great on road courses and needs to show it again. It would also be nice if he finished the Daytona 500, it’s a race that has plagued him in his Cup career, despite two wins on superspeedways in the Xfinity Series.
Bubba Wallace Resolutions:
– Avoid early-season struggles
– Race with confidence
– Win a race
– Make the Playoffs
The goals are simple for Bubba Wallace, win a race and make the NASCAR Playoffs. After that, make as deep of a run as you can manage. However, if Wallace wants to have another career-best season, he has to avoid early-season problems and race with confidence.
Race like you are a top-10 driver in the Cup Series. The 23XI Racing driver finished 2023 with five DNFs, but they were all within the first 15 races of the season. If he keeps his head about him, then success will follow.
