White Sox star Tim Anderson will reportedly miss significant time with a torn ligament in his hand, per Russell Dorsey of Bally Sports.
According to Daryl van Schouwen of the Sun Times, Anderson appears to have been injured in the final at-bat of Saturday’s game against the Rangers, which the White Sox lost 8-0. The slugger then had the hand examined on Sunday to assess the situation.
The club has not yet confirmed the reports.
After hitting .301/.339/.395 with six homers, 25 RBIs and 13 stolen bases on the year, Anderson could now be out for as long as four to six weeks. The White Sox are currently 55-53, sitting two games back of the Twins for first in the AL Central and 2 1/2 games back of the third AL Wild Card spot.
