Ross Chastain knows how Kyle Larson feels after NASCAR’s visit to Pocono, perhaps better than anyone.
With the laps dwindling down, Larson was gearing up for a fight to the finish with Denny Hamlin, until the Joe Gibbs Racing veteran ran him up the track and into the wall, similar to the way he’s raced Chastain in the past. The move prompted Larson to push Hamlin into the wall when the field went under a yellow flag due to a wreck, and then Larson voiced his displeasure after the fact.
“It is what it is,” he said. “Yeah, we’re friends. Yes, this makes things sh*tty and awkward, but whatever. He’s always right. All the buddies know Denny’s always right. So I’m sure he was right there as well. It is what it is. I’m not gonna let it tarnish a friendship, but I am pissed and I feel like I should be pissed.”
As for Chastain, he came home in P13, and took to Twitter afterwards, where he fired off a perfect response to the entire ordeal.
