Just in time for the 2024 NASCAR season, Bubba Wallace is already feeling a little spicy. He’s not going to let fans make silly remarks. Not on his timeline. Wallace was quick on Twitter/X today to correct the record after a fan complained about NASCAR covering his entry into the IMSA Pilot Challenge.
Now, this is nothing new. Bubba Wallace gets complaints no matter where he shows up. Online, at the track, it doesn’t matter. However, he has never been afraid to hit back when he feels that it is needed. Or when he feels like he has the time.
Today, he definitely had the time.
NASCAR shared a story from IMSA.com about Bubba Wallace entering the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge. He’s going to be joined by John Hunter Nemechek and Corey Heim on his team in the four-hour endurance event.
This fan felt that it was unfair for NASCAR to promote this content, but not, say, the Chili Bowl.
“Notice how NASCAR reposts this, but doesn’t repost anything about the chili bowl [sic], which features 4 current cup drivers. Chase Briscoe, Ricky Stenhouse, JJ Yeley, and Kyle Larson. … It’s [because of Bubba] Wallace.”
Bubba asked the user “Who owns IMSA? I’ll wait…” and promptly hit them with a “too small” gif courtesy of Trae Young of the Atlanta Falcons.
