The UFC is planning a strawweight showdown between Amanda Ribas and Angela Hill for May 8, multiple people with knowledge of the news told MMA Fighting. Contracts are yet to be issued but both sides have verbally agreed, sources said.

The UFC Fight Night show will be headlined by Cory Sandhagen vs. T.J. Dillashaw at a yet-to-be-announced location.

Ribas (10-2) will be entering the cage for the first time since suffering her first octagon loss in January, a second-round knockout defeat to fellow Brazilian 115-pounder Marina Rodriguez.

Ribas went 4-0 in her previous UFC appearances against Paige VanZant, Randa Markos, Mackenzie Dern and Emily Whitmire.

Hill (13-9) last fought in March, defeating Ashley Yoder via decision at UFC Vegas 21 to bounce back from close split decision defeats to Claudia Gadelha and Michelle Waterson.

A former Invicta FC strawweight champion, “Overkill” is 7-7 in her second UFC run with wins over the likes of Maryna Moroz, Loma Lookboonmee and Hannah Cifers.
