Top Quotes

  • George Russell [Williams] “Racing is just brutal.”
  • Valtteri Bottas [Mercedes] “I never imagined after that [spin in pit lane], that there would be a penalty. But of course other teams, when there’s an opportunity they complain that it’s dangerous, etcetera, so we get penalized. That’s how it goes. Everyone’s trying to screw you over in this sport.”
  • Jos Verstappen [Jos The Boss] “I think Lewis and Max are equal. It’s very difficult to compare as they don’t drive the same car. We have a good car, but the Mercedes is also very strong.”
  • Toto Wolff [Mercedes] “Red Bull brought trucks and vans on Thursday and Friday with new parts, and fair enough, it’s a strategy, and one that proves to be successful as it stands because today they were simply in a league of their own from a car pace [perspective]. We have stopped developing for this year because we believe next year is so important to get it right. And they keep adding bits.”
  • Christian Horner [Red Bull] “What Mercedes do is very much their business. So we’re just focused on ourselves and we know that Toto likes to throw the light somewhere else, so I can’t believe that they’ll go through the rest of this year without putting a single component on the car.”
