Beat the Streak is back for the 2022 season — and the $5.6 million prize is still up for grabs.
The idea is simple — pick one player (or two) every day who you think will get a hit. The objective — surpass Joe DiMaggio’s record-long 56-game hitting streak — is a bit more challenging.

Altuve has started to turn a corner over the past eight games, hitting .290 with two doubles and two homers in that span. He has good career numbers against Mets starter Carlos Carrasco as well, hitting .385 in 26 at-bats against him.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (at White Sox)
After a turbulent May, Guerrero has started to find his form again in June, hitting .300 since the start of the month. He’s been especially good since June 10, hitting .362 with five multihit efforts in 12 games.
Riley Greene (at Red Sox)
The Tigers’ top prospect has done nothing but impress since coming up to the Majors. It’s only been four games, but the 21-year-old is hitting .417 in that span. Red Sox starter Michael Wacha hasn’t been on top of his game lately, either, as opponents hit .333 against him over his past two starts.
Rays (vs. Yankees — Jordan Montgomery)
Over his past five starts, Montgomery is holding opposing hitters to a measly .181 average. With the Rays currently having four of their regular starters on the injured list, it’ll be hard for them to crack the code against Montgomery.
Mariners (at A’s — Paul Blackburn)
The Mariners have struggled mightily offensively in June, as they have a .219 average as a team this month. Combine that with Blackburn, who is having a career year with a 2.26 ERA, and it’s a recipe for another slow night for Seattle’s lineup.
