Beat the Streak is back for the 2022 season — and the $5.6 million prize is still up for grabs.
The idea is simple — pick one player (or two) every day who you think will get a hit. The objective — surpass Joe DiMaggio’s record-long 56-game hitting streak — is a bit more challenging.

Ramírez has been one of the top hitters in the Majors this season — and he’s taken his game to another level over the past three weeks. Along with coming into this matchup red-hot, Ramírez will be squaring off with Twins starter Chris Archer — a pitcher that the Guardians superstar has had some success against in the past.
Joey Votto, Reds (vs. Cubs)
Votto is obviously having a down season at the plate, but he has thrived against Cubs starter Kyle Hendricks in the past. Votto comes into this showdown with a .395 (15-for-38) lifetime average against Hendricks, all while racking up nine extra-base hits and 15 walks for a 1.477 OPS.
Athletics (vs. Mariners — Logan Gilbert)
Gilbert enters this one with a 2.44 ERA and he’s holding opponents to just a .220 average on the season. That doesn’t bode well for an A’s team that ranks last in the Majors in batting average (.211) and OPS (.600).
Dodgers (vs. Padres — Joe Musgrove)
This is a tricky one. Musgrove is coming off his worst start of the year (six runs over six innings vs. the Phillies) and the Dodgers are arguably the best offense in the Majors — but Musgrove still enters this matchup with a 2.12 ERA while holding opponents to a .203 average. We certainly can’t blame you if you want to roll with one of the Dodgers’ many offensive weapons, but just know the matchup isn’t ideal.
