Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin square off for the third time tonight at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The score currently sits at 1-0-1 after two contentious contests in 2017 and 2018.
In their inaugural encounter, the judges couldn’t pick a winner and declared the contest a split draw although the consensus is that GGG should have had his hand raised on the night. Then, when they boxed again 364 days later, Canelo edged it on the scorecards via majority decision but not without further scrutiny from fans and media alike.
With so many questions surrounding their first two contests, a rubber match was booked to settle the debate once and for all – this time at super middleweight for Canelo’s undisputed 168lb crown. Golovkin will be making his first outing at the weight having boxed at 160lb for his entire professional career.

The trilogy fight will be held on Saturday, September 17 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas – the scene of their last two contests.

The card will get going at 1am on Sunday morning UK time with Canelo vs Golovkin expected from 5am. The fight will be broadcast live on DAZN. The streaming service £7.99 per month, with an additional PPV price of £9.99 required to watch the event.
