Clay Guida will compete inside the octagon for the third time in 2021.
Guida posted on his Instagram that he will face Leonardo Santos at the UFC’s event on Dec. 4, which MMA Fighting subsequently confirmed with sources close to the situation. The card is scheduled to take place at the UFC APEX.
The 39-year-old Guida began the year with a unanimous decision victory over Michael Johnson at UFC Vegas 18 in February. “The Carpenter” returned at August’s UFC Vegas 34 event and dropped a hard fought split decision to Mark O. Madsen. Guida will now make his 32nd promotional appearance.
Santos, 41, will look to bounce back after having his 13-fight unbeaten streak snapped by Grant Dawson at UFC Vegas 22, where he suffered a brutal, buzzer beater KO loss with one second left in the fight. Prior to that, the 41-year-old hadn’t tasted defeat inside the octagon, which included finishes of Kevin Lee, Stevie Ray and Anthony Rocco Martin.
The UFC’s Dec. 4 event will be headlined by a bantamweight bout between Rob Font and Jose Aldo.
