The national championship game is set and as March Madness reaches its endpoint, we’re set to go out with a bang as No. 1 seed Gonzaga and No. 1 seed Baylor meet in the season finale on Monday night in Indianapolis.

It’s the first time since 2005 that the national title game features the top overall seeds in the Torneo de la NCAA and the first time since 2001 the preseason No. 1 and preseason No. 2 teams will battle to determine the champion. And oh, it will be a battle.

“It’s going to be a dogfight, I think,” Gonzaga star Jalen Suggs said Saturday of the matchup. “There’s no other way to put it. We’re going to go at them. It’s going to be a game of runs and I mean, it’s going to be a battle.”

Gonzaga is looking to become the first team since Bob Knight’s Indiana Hoosiers in 1975-1976 to complete a season with an unblemished record on the way to a first-ever championship. Baylor, appearing in its first title game since 1948 (!), is looking to cap its best-ever season with a crown. Whatever happens Monday is gravy — the two best teams in the sport all season made it through the bracket to face each other with the chip on the line.
