FOX will open its 2022 schedule of nationally-televised MLB games on Saturday with a trio of must-see matchups at 7 p.m. ET. Depending on their region, fans will see the powerhouse Dodgers take on the surprising D-backs at Chase Field, a National League East battle between longtime rivals as the Mets host the Phillies at Citi Field, or a cross-town rivalry renewed between the Cubs and White Sox on the South Side of Chicago.

Here’s a preview of what to watch for in each contest:

Dodgers at D-backs
Behind a red-hot run at the plate by Mookie Betts, the Dodgers continue to roll atop the NL West, though they’re trying to stave off the Padres, who are right behind them in the division standings. The D-backs, meanwhile, are hovering around the .500 mark after losing 110 games last year, thanks in large part to strong performances from starters Madison Bumgarner, Zac Gallen and Merrill Kelly — Kelly is scheduled to take the mound against Los Angeles on Saturday, looking to bounce back from a rough couple of starts after posting a 1.71 ERA over his first seven.

Phillies at Mets
Bryce Harper has picked up right where he left off in his 2021 NL MVP campaign — in fact, he’s on pace to eclipse his offensive production from last year. Can the Mets contain him? So far, New York is flying high despite being without former Cy Young Award winners Jacob deGrom and Max Scherzer, who are on the injured list. One big reason for the Mets’ surge despite injuries to key starters is right-hander Taijuan Walker, who brings a 2.70 ERA into his scheduled start against Philadelphia on Saturday.

Cubs at White Sox
Neither Chicago club is where it wants to be as we near the end of May, but with three Wild Card spots up for grabs and the White Sox within striking distance of the first-place Twins in the AL Central, it’ll be another exciting cross-town showdown at Guaranteed Rate Field. Johnny Cueto, at age 36, has tossed 12 scoreless innings over his first two starts with the White Sox, and the crafty right-hander is scheduled to take the mound Saturday against the Cubs. Led by Willson Contreras and Ian Happ, the Cubs’ lineup will try to spoil Cueto’s pristine 0.00 ERA.

Don’t miss these three marquee matchups Saturday on FOX, as well as many more during the rest of the 2022 regular season.
