World heavyweight champion Tyson Fury could soon be appearing on the big screen after being offered a role in the Expendables franchise by Sylvester Stallone. The Hollywood film star has helped screenwrite the entire franchise and sees Fury as a future actor.
Filming for the fourth sequel of The Expendables has already been completed with the film set to be released in September 2023. Stallone, who is famed for the Rocky films, will appear alongside Fury on this weekend’s Jonathan Ross Show, to be broadcast on ITV at 10pm on Saturday.
It was during the filming that Stallone voiced his admiration for Fury and his desire to see him feature in a Hollywood film. He said: “I think he’d be fantastic, he’s a natural force of nature and he has charisma, so why wouldn’t we want him? As long as he’s on the other side beating up the other guys.”
Fury is defending his WBC heavyweight title against Derek Chisora on December 3 and also has plans to fight Oleksandr Usyk in a heavyweight unification bout. The British champion briefly retired from boxing after beating Dillian Whyte in April before reversing his decision and said he would ‘love’ to try a Hollywood career when he finally hangs up his gloves for good.

Fury said: “100 per cent in the future, it’s something I’d love to explore. Who better to help me than the man himself Mr Rocky Balboa? The guy I grew up watching on TV. A great opportunity and a great offer and something I’d love to have a go at later when I finish with the boxing career.”
Stallone, who inspired a whole generation of boxers in the Rocky films, believes that Fury could follow the likes of UFC legend Randy Couture who also appeared in The Expendables. World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall, whose boxing career lasted just one fight, was also cast in an undisclosed role in the franchise.

Stallone went on to hail Fury’s boxing career and believes nobody has ever come close. He added: “I think you’re the greatest heavyweight that ever lived and I’m a boxing historian, I studied this closely.
“When you put together all your skills, plus your heart and your ability to recuperate and how you can move around so well at your size, there’s no one that could have beat you in any era. It’s totally true.” Flattered by the remark Fury responded: “That’s one for the memory book, I really appreciate it.”
