Jake Paul’s next bout has been confirmed as the YouTuber-turned-fighter is set to take on Brazilian Anderson Silva in the US later this year. The details of the fight have emerged as the duo are set to compete in Arizona. The pair will fight at the Gila River Arena in Glendale on October 29 at 187 pounds, with the fight set to last eight rounds. Paul has fought five times in his professional career, but his latest bout with Tommy Fury was cancelled as the Love Island star was unable to enter America in August.
“I love it!” Rogan said on his Fight Companion show. “If Jake Paul really decides to fight Anderson, that’s a very, very, very tough fight. Jake Paul is one of the smartest marketers that the sport has ever seen and he can fight – he’s got balls! And, the thing is, people think he’s this YouTube guy and he can’t fight… Look at the way he knocked out Tyron Woodley.
“Come the f**k on. I have said this multiple times, if that guy was just a boxer and you’d never known anything about his YouTube background and you saw him knock out Tyron Woodley with one shot, you’d be like holy sh*t there’s this new guy coming up and he’s a bad motherf****r. He’s really legit.”
Paul recently clashed with KSI over the pair’s PPV numbers on social media, as reports claimed that the Brit’s recent double-header at the O2 sold fewer packages than Paul’s fight with Askren.
“Bulls*** aside, the PPV business ain’t easy,” Paul tweeted. “Congrats to KSI and his boxing company. Those are great numbers. The day we finally settle this, it will break the internet and do some big PPV numbers on Showtime. I’m ready as soon as he feels he is.”
KSI replied: “I can literally see your numbers and ours. We beat your last fight by a HUGE amount ppv wise. Even with your team trying hard to sabotage the event and me having to fight 2 randoms last minute. We are not the same.”
