Jake Paul has been hanging out with Anthony Joshua in Dubai as the two spent time playing laser tag ahead of both Floyd Mayweather and Tommy Fury fighting on Saturday night. Mayweather is set to face KSI’s younger brother Deji in an exhibition bout, meanwhile Paul’s long-term rival Tommy Fury will be in action as he’s set to face American Paul Bamba on the undercard. The night will also see Love Island winner Jack Fincham face Paul’s training partner Anthony Taylor.
Paul is just weeks removed from his impressive victory over legendary UFC fighter Anderson Silva, with Paul defeating Silva in the boxing ring by way of majority decision after he knocked the Brazilian down in the final round. Paul remains undefeated in his career, with wins over Tyron Woodley, Ben Askren, Nate Robinson and AnEsonGib.
The 25-year-old has long been linked with a fight with Fury, with the two having fight dates on two separate occasions. However, Fury was forced to pull out back in 2021 after suffering with a broken rib and a chest infection, before a second date was confirmed which was hampered by Fury’s inability to acquire an ESTA to fly to the United States. Paul is said to be interested in making a fight happen against Fury, even stating he’d be happy to fight in the United Kingdom.
Paul has history with both main event fighters, with his brother, Logan Paul, facing Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition bout in 2021, with Jake having an altercation with Mayweather as he stole his hat before running away after a face-to-face between the two. Paul also has a long-standing rivalry with KSI, Deji’s brother, and fought Deji himself in an exhibiton bout in 2018.
Joshua is also expected to attend the fight on Saturday, after being in Dubai alongside Lawrence Okolie, who had trained with Paul earlier this week. When speaking on how Paul did in sparring, Okolie said: “He’s better than most boxers; people just hate because of his influencer background.”
Paul spent Friday with Joshua, Okolie and friends, as they played laser tag before Paul returned to his hotel with girlfriend Julia Rose, as can be seen on his Instagram story.
Paul also shared a video with controversial figure Andrew Tate ahead of a potential fight next year, stating that he is in negotiations on a fight against the former kickboxer who is banned from YouTube, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
