Star outfielder Julio Rodríguez is finalizing a long-term deal with the Mariners that is expected to guarantee him more than $200 million and reach a potential value in the range of $450 million, a source told MLB.com’s Jesse Sanchez on Friday. The club has not confirmed the deal.
The 21-year-old Rodríguez, one of the most exciting players in the game and the favorite for the AL Rookie of the Year Award, has hit .269/.328/.471 with 20 homers and 23 steals in 108 games this year.
