Now that Kevin Harvick is retired, he has some plans to race on the side. He also has his own late model and super late model cars. Harvick’s KHI Management has a number of drivers. They also want to be able to bring in NASCAR stars and put them in these grassroots cars.
Kevin Harvick had been a Ford driver for almost a decade with Stewart-Haas Racing. So, is he going to stick with the blue oval and keep running Fords into his retirement? Well, yes. He’s also going to have Chevy and Toyota running for his teams.
Speaking with Dale Earnhardt Jr. on the Dale Jr. Download, Harvick talked about his manufacturer allegiances – or lack thereof.
“We’re probably going to run a couple late model stocks next year full-time and then we’re gonna have the super late model. Ryan Preece is headed to Snowball Derby with our super late model to run its first race. But through this process of the CARS Tour stuff it’s just kind of rekindled the fire to say, ‘Man, I like the race cars in my shop.’”
Kevin Harvick has a number of drivers signed to his management team. That includes Josh Berry who will replace him at Stewart-Haas Racing. KHI Management is the next step for Harvick and his family professionally.
In order to maximize the potential for the management group, manufacturer allegiance isn’t something he’s too worried about. It will just get in the way.

Talking with Dale Jr. Harvick went into his vision for his new future. It isn’t just KHI Management, it’s his late model teams. It’s about the CARS Tour. It’s about having fun and expanding grassroots racing.
By freeing himself, Kevin Harvick can best serve all of his ventures in his post-NASCAR career.
“I don’t have any. Nothing,” Harvick explained. “No, because the late model teams, in my mind, were an asset for KHI Management. So, KHI Management will still function with the driver representation, sponsors, all the things that we do. To me, as I went to all these late model races I’m like ‘Man it’s tough to see your guys get in cars and do things that you don’t know anything about.’ So the theory is, okay we’re gonna have the late model teams, the supers and the late model stocks, so that our clients can get in the cars and we’ll use the cars for our clients for special events. … If we need to put a Ford driver or a Toyota driver in a CARS Tour race, that’s what we’re gonna do. We’re gonna take the nose off and we’re gonna put a Toyota on it or put a Ford on it.”
Now, I’m not sure what kind of car Kevin Harvick is going to drive. However, his team is going to drive whatever they have to to get the drivers in the car that they want to get.
Josh Berry is taking the No. 62 late model to Hickory Motor Speedway for this Saturday night. It’s going to be a fun night of racing.
