For Kyle Busch and his team, it is another week of what in the world happened? Rowdy has another awful result on his record. Since that win at Gateway, it has been sink or swim for Busch and his NASCAR team. This week they sank real low as Michael McDowell went on to win.
Even with top-10 speed on the day, Kyle Busch couldn’t avoid disaster. The Verizon 200 was going well, Busch picked up stage points and was looking to contend for a top-5 finish. However, the No. 8 Chevy Camaro would soon have issues.
A broken valve spring would ultimately doom Busch and his efforts for the day. This is the third finish of 36th or worse for Busch in the last five races. It has been mechanical issues, spins, and inexplicable slides into the wall in the last few weeks.
Now, it looks like Rowdy just doesn’t know what to do. This is the first road course of the season Busch didn’t finish in the top-5, including the Chicago Street Course.
