Kyle.Engineers was introduced to us by our numbers man Kevin Melro, providing interesting insights and analysis into the 2022 McLaren MCL36 unveiled on Friday.
In this video published on his YouTube Channel, we go through and analyse the aero details on the car, and why and how they work, focussing on the front wing, front suspension pull-rod, front caketin, mid floor and strakes, floor edge and diffuser as well as the sidepods and cooling
Kyle.Engineers writes in the intro: “At first glance, McLaren’s new car certainly looks like a vanilla repackage of their old car into the 2022 regulations, instead of a brand new concept.
“However, with these things, it’s all about the detail, and that’s what we are going to run through on their car. In this video we go through and analyse the aero details on the car, and why and how they work.”
Kyle worked for Mercedes as an aerodynamicist from 2018 to 2020 in Formula 1 and now is an aerodynamics consultant, designing aerodynamic packages for different race cars and different classes all around the world.
