Three-time Australian Olympian Lisa Curry and her son, ironman and model Jett Kenny, are in isolation after a close brush with COVID-19.
On Sunday, the mother and son duo attended Queensland’s Surf Life Saving Championships at Tugun Beach along the Gold Coast.
A positive COVID-19 case was at the beach at the same time.
Curry, 58, and Kenny, 27, announced on Wednesday that they will be self-isolating until they return a negative result.
It comes as the state recorded two new cases on Wednesday, out of a total of 11 community transmissions so far.
Curry shared a picture of herself wearing a mask to her 100,000 fans.
“Our turn ?… lining up to be tested … isolation until a negative result comes back. I might lie in bed all day !!” she wrote.
“I was at the Qld Surf Lifesaving Championships on Sunday so need to be tested … Stay home, stay safe everyone x”.
Her son Jett Kenny also warned his 51,000 followers to stay safe.
Kenny shared the COVID alert on his Insta story.
He revealed he will be passing the time in isolation by playing video games and eating Maltesers.
“Every kill means one Malteser,” he wrote.
“Start of test isolation is here.”
The COVID-19 positive case was at Tugun Beach from 12.30pm-2:00pm on March 28.
“If you visited us during this time, you should get tested and quarantine until you have a negative result,” health authorities warned.
The scare comes as the family still heals after being struck by tragedy.
Lisa’s Daughter and Jett’s sister Jaimi Kenny passed away on September 13 last year.
Jaimi, who was the eldest daughter of Curry and former Ironman Grant Kenny, died from a long-term illness at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
She was 33 at the time.
Earlier this month, Lisa Curry made a touching tribute to her daughter, to mark the six-month anniversary of her death.
She said Jaimi was “always around wherever I go”.
