The odds for Daytona are here and there are some interesting choices at the top of the favorites list heading into the Coke Zero Sugar 400. NASCAR has spent the last 25+ weeks preparing for this moment, the regular season finale. The playoff field will be set by the time Saturday night comes to a close.
Daytona under the lights on a Saturday night, with everything on the line for a number of teams? That is the recipe for success. If you were going to tune into any race this season, it should be this one. 400 miles at Daytona and the odds favor someone in a tough spot.
This weekend, Las Vegas and the folks at Bet MGM are putting their faith in Chase Elliott once again. Despite his team making a catastrophic mistake on fuel last week, bookmakers are high on Elliott once again. Back against the wall, he is favored at 11-1 odds. He has never won at Daytona, with two P2 finishes on his record.
Following Elliott in the Daytona odds is a trio of drivers. Ryan Blaney, Kyle Busch, and Joey Logano all have 12-1 odds to win this race. Busch won at Talladega earlier this season after a big last-lap wreck.
Tied for fifth overall are another trio of drivers at 14-1 odds. William Byron, Denny Hamlin, and Brad Keselowski have the same odds to take the checkered flag.
Bubba Wallace Daytona odds
Of course, everyone is focused on the driver sitting in 16th overall, Bubba Wallace. Bubba has the hold of that final playoff spot, for now. Up 32 points on Ty Gibbs in 17th, Wallace will have to get his car to the finish line, and might even have to win in order to make the playoffs.
As long as there are no new winners, Wallace is in good shape. There is always the possibility of a late, or early, crash that takes him out of the race. Gibs will be waiting for that moment to happen and if and when it does, will try to capitalize on it.
At 20-1, Wallace has the same Daytona odds as a number of other drivers. Ross Chastain, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Kyle Larson, and Daniel Suárez all have the same odds to win the race.
17 drivers are winless this season so far, and all of them will have a shot to make the playoffs by winning at Daytona. Will we get a surprse winner in the regular season finale?
