NASCAR confirms noose found in Bubba Wallace’s garage stall on Sunday.

On the same day that a plane flew over Talladega Superspeedway announcing to “Defund NASCAR” after the racing promotion banned the Confederate Flag at all races, another alarming act was confirmed.

According to a statement from NASCAR, a noose was found in Bubba Wallace’s garage stall on Sunday. Wallace has been outspoken on the Black Lives Matter issue and wore a “I can’t breathe” shirt on the track.

“NASCAR was made aware that a noose was found in the garage stall of [Bubba Wallace’s] team,” the statement reads. “We are angry and outraged, and cannot state strongly enough how seriously we take this heinous act. We have launched an immediate investigation, and will do everything to identify the person(s) responsible.”

Wallace also responded to the news via his official Twitter account.

“This will not break me,” he wrote. “I will not give in, nor will I break down. I will continue to proudly stand for what I believe in.”

There was also a protest outside of the raceway in favor of the Confederate Flag which was banned in light of the Black Lives Matter movement which was reignited after the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis Police.
