We’ve now reached the point of the Olympic Games in which we’re inundated with a bunch of lesser-known sports, and thus left contemplating the extreme difficulty of athletic pursuits such as artistic swimming and sports climbing. But we’re also nearing the end of the journey for some more recognizable teams.
Case in point: There’s a spot in the gold-medal game on the line as Kevin Durant, Damian Lillard and U.S. men’s basketball face Australia — the same country the U.S. women’s hoops team defeated on Tuesday night — in a semifinal matchup at 12:15 a.m. ET.
Then, in the wee hours of Thursday morning, the USWNT takes on Australia in the women’s soccer bronze-medal match. … If Team USA vs. Australia wasn’t already a rivalry, it is now.
From the plethora of track events (men’s triple jump final, men’s shot put final and men’s 110m hurdles final, to name a few) to when Megan Rapinoe & Co. take the pitch, we’ve got you covered with updates on all the action from Tokyo:

Shaun White won three Olympic gold medals in snowboarding, but the 34-year-old legend had a chance to see what a Summer Games medal is like when he posed for a photo with skateboarding gold medalist Sakura Yosozumi and silver medalist Kokona Hiraki.
