ATLANTA — Rob Thomson earned it.
The Phillies removed the interim tag from Thomson’s title as manager and signed him to a two-year deal that runs through 2024 on Monday.
Thomson replaced Joe Girardi on June 3 and guided the Phillies to the postseason for the first time since 2011, posting a 65-46 record in his 111 games. The Phillies beat the Cardinals in the NL Wild Card Series and will play the Braves in Game 1 of the NL Division Series on Tuesday.
