Jannik Sinner has demonstrated again why he could be the next men’s tennis superstar as he battled courageously before powering past the experienced Roberto Bautista Agut 5-7 6-4 6-4 to reach the Miami Open final.
The 19-year-old Italian’s triumph on Friday has made him only the fourth men’s teenage finalist in the tournament’s 36-year history, following 1990 champion Andre Agassi, 2005 runner-up Rafael Nadal and 2007 winner Novak Djokovic.
All three of those men went on to become world No.1 and Sinner showed again with his comeback victory after a battle lasting nearly two-and-a-half hours why he may also have the game to get to the very top.
