White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson left Sunday night’s game at Angel Stadium in the bottom of the first inning with left hamstring tightness and was replaced in the field by Leury García.
Anderson opened the game against right-handed starter Shohei Ohtani with a groundout to second baseman David Fletcher, but Anderson winced as he hit the bag. He took a little time near first after the play before returning to the dugout.
Through this opening series, Anderson is 3-for-15 with one home run, one RBI and three runs scored. He’s a key force at the top of the lineup, winning the 2019 American League batting title, as well as being the heart of this team.
