Australia’s Ajla Tomljanovic has cruised through to the second round of the Volvo Car Open in the US with a convincing win over American Christina McHale.

The Australian world No.78, who gave Naomi Osaka a fair test at the recent Miami Open, will face the winner of Marie Bouzkova and Timea Babos in the second round.
