Tommy Fury has been well and truly in the public eye for the better part of three years now after appearing on ITV’s hit show Love Island in 2019. After doing so, his relationship with fellow member of the show Molly-Mae Hague grew with the two being a likeable couple as they finished second on the show. Fury’s following exponentionally grew after the show, with thousands tuning in to follow his professional boxing career.
As almost all will be aware, Tommy comes from the famous Fury family, being the younger half-brother of Tyson Fury. Coming from a lineage of boxers in the family, Tommy is looking to create his own legacy in the sport as he has begun his career with an impressive 8-0 start ahead of his upcoming bout on a Floyd Mayweather vs Deji (KSI’s brother) undercard in November.
But who exactly is Tommy related to? Here, we take a look at his family tree.
Father: John Fury Sr.
A boxer himself, John Fury Sr has six children with Tommy being the youngest. John had a pretty successful boxing career, retiring with an 8-4 record. His boxing career came after an underground bare knuckle boxing career, in which he was said to have had 100’s of bouts.
John Sr went on to train a number of boxers, including his sons and nephews. Little is known on Tommy’s mother.
Uncle: Peter Fury
Boxing trainer Peter Fury has been seen coaching a number of high quality fighters, including his own son Hughie Fury. The brother of John Fury, he remains close with Tyson, Tommy and John and has trained all of them throughout their careers, with Tommy and Tyson being seen at Hughie’s fights.
Cousin: Hughie Fury
The second most successful boxing Fury, Hughie has had a well-respected career in his own right, with wins over Sam Sexton, Mariusz Wach and Christian Hammer. Many felt like Fury had also defeated Joseph Parker, but the New Zealand boxer was awarded the victory via a controversial decision. He also had close losses against Alexander Povetkin and Kubrat Pulev.
