Simon Jordan has accused Frank Warren and of ‘taking the mickey’ out of fans with the price point set on the trilogy. The fight, which had been slammed by critics from the off, cost UK customers £26.95 to watch on BT Sport Box Office – a joint British record fee.

During a recent appearance on talkSPORT, Warren was grilled on the matter by Jordan as the pair went back and forth live on air.

“You know my view on it. I thought it was a pup of a fight. I didn’t want to see it. I didn’t like the pricing policy,” said Jordan.

“In terms of pay-per-view, I thought you were taking the mickey by putting it at a price point that is so expensive when you’re putting on a pup of a fight with an outcome, we already know is going to be the case and charging top money for it. I don’t think that is right, I think that is taking the punters for a bit of a mug.”

“And there were some good youngsters. At the end of the day, no one pushes anyone’s arm up their back to buy tickets. All I kept hearing when we made this fight was ‘it won’t sell, it’s empty.’ We sold out. I don’t need to go make stories up, I told you we would sell out and I told you in my eyes he [Chisora] will come to fight.

“I don’t think anyone will beat Tyson, but you only have to go back a couple of fights and Chisora was in the fight that everybody is raging about and wants to see now with Usyk. Derek was in that fight, and he only lost it by two rounds.”

Despite the backlash, the event received from fans and media alike, Fury vs Chisora III sold 60,000 tickets at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. As of yet, there have been no officially disclosed PPV numbers for the event but the gate receipt certainly exceeded expectations.
