Tyson Fury has given his solution to settle the score between his father John and Jake Paul. The Gypsy King would like to see the pair fight each other in a ‘bare-knuckle fight to the end’ and believes it would be a pay-per-view-worthy event.
John and Jake nearly came to blows after Tommy Fury’s recent exhibition bout against Rolly Lambert on the Floyd Mayweather vs Deji Olatunji undercard in Dubai. Throughout the contest, Jake – who was a guest commentator for the fight – hurled insults at Tommy with John taking exception.
After the final bell, John ripped off his top and tried to lunge at The Problem Child while Tommy had to be held back as he attempted to climb through the ropes to ringside, where Jake was standing.
When asked who would win between his 58-year-old dad and Jake, 25, during a recent appearance on the MMA Hour, Fury replied: “I think my dad would rip his heart out and feed it to him and the man is nearly 60 years old.
“He showed he didn’t want to fight Tommy. He wouldn’t even get in the ring. He was terrified, he kept walking backwards, coming out with all sorts of rubbish. The kid doesn’t want to fight Tommy, it’s going to be another Tyson AJ with him.
“One man wants to fight but another doesn’t. In that case what can you do? It’s not about the money with Jake Paul, the man just doesn’t want to lose to Tommy and Tommy will knock him out.”
Tommy and Jake have been booked to face each other twice to no avail. In December, Tommy was forced to pull out after sustaining a broken rib in camp before their August date was cancelled when the ex-Love Island was denied entry to the United States – where the event was due to take place.
A third attempt at making the grudge match happen for February next year was in discussions. However, talk has since gone quiet.
