Tyson Fury has listed a host of reasons why he would blitz Joe Joyce in a British heavyweight battle – including having a ‘bigger corey’. The Gypsy King is set for a more active 2023 after ending the year by battering veteran Derek Chisora in a completely one-sided voluntary defence of his WBC title at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Talented undefeated heavyweight Joyce belongs to the same promotion stable as Fury in Frank Warren’s Queensbury Promotions, and has been tipped for a title shot against the dominant 34-year-old next year.
Fury first appears poised for a blockbuster unification showdown with fellow undefeated heavyweight Oleksandr Usyk – who holds the WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO belts.
Usyk visited the ring apron to confront Fury after his brutal beating of Chisora in North London last month, ahead of a hugely-anticipated bout earmarked for early 2023.
“No. Because one, I’m bigger than him, two, I’m stronger than him and three I’m heavier than him,” Fury said.“Four I’m faster than him and five I’ve got a bigger corey than he does as well! So how’s he going to beat me?
He continued: “I don’t think any of them can beat me. On my worst night you can’t beat me because I can pull it out of the bag every single time like I have done all my life.
“I’m the only person from this country that can deliver, year in year, out in any sport as well. I keep delivering. I’m not a one hit wonder… I’m the Indian summer that just don’t stop giving.”
