The White Sox are poised to add right-handed pitcher Joe Kelly on a two-year deal, a source told MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand.
In addition, a source told MLB.com’s Scott Merkin that free-agent infielder Josh Harrison (who split 2021 between Washington and Oakland) is also joining the White Sox on a one-year contract. The club has not confirmed either deal.
The 10-year veteran Kelly is coming off a three-year stint with the Dodgers in which he put up a 3.59 ERA and a 3.46 FIP in 105 1/3 innings across 115 appearances in L.A. He exited Game 5 of the 2021 NLCS with a right biceps strain, which ended his season.
A two-time World Series champion (with the Dodgers in 2020, and the Red Sox in ’18), Kelly has a 107 ERA+ in 730 2/3 career innings with three clubs (the Cardinals, in addition to L.A. and Boston).
