Matildas star Caitlin Foord has netted her 10th goal of the season for Arsenal in the Women’s Super League to help her side to a 3-0 victory over Tottenham.

Foord’s low strike gave the Gunners the lead in the first half in London on Saturday before Vivianne Miedema doubled it with a classy volley.

Arsenal completed the scoring 15 minutes into the second half, when Katie McCabe pounced on a defensive error to give the visitors all three points.

Coach Joe Montemurro said Arsenal, who are in fourth place, are focusing on themselves as they look to secure a spot in the top three of the league.

“We’re definitely finding good rhythm now,” Montemurro said.

“We can’t rely on other results and the possibilities of other teams, we just have to worry about what we’re doing.”

Spurs boss Rehanne Skinner said her side did not do enough in the opening 45 minutes, and that’s what caused their downfall.

“To be honest, we were maybe a bit tentative in the first half. We could’ve been a bit more forceful in putting Arsenal under pressure,” she said.

“We definitely grew into the game which is positive, we pushed higher up the half and that created some good opportunities for us.”
