For two NASCAR Xfinity Series drivers, Jeremy Clements and Anthony Alfredo, prerace tech inspection will have future consequences. Both are losing a crew member this week and will lose pit selection next week at Talladega.

The way Xfinity Series pit selection is set up, these penalties are assessed a week later. In the Cup Series, these penalties are issued for that week. The 51 and 5 car both failed twice but passed on a third attempt.

Losing out on that pit stall selection isn’t the worst thing for Talladega. But you never want to lose a crew member for the weekend. Both Jeremy Clements and Anthony Alfredo have been improving this season. Alfredo is back with Our Motorsports this season.

Anthony Alfredo has been particularly impressive in 2024. Last season with BJ McLeod Motorsports, Alfredo had two top-10 finishes all season long. This season with the Our Motorsports No. 5 team, he already has two top-10 finishes. He has a couple of additional top-15 finishes to go along with that, too.

Clements has been improved as well. He has a top-10 finish to his name this season. He didn’t have a single top-10 all of 2023. So, getting back to running fast on a consistent basis for the 51 team.

Both drivers have Talladega circled on their schedule. It gives them their best opportunity to win a race and get into the Xfinity Series Playoffs.

Anthony Alfredo still searching for Xfinty win

In his career, Anthony Alfredo has fewer than 100 Xfinity Series starts. He has yet to find victory lane in the series. Alfredo hit the Cup Series as a young up-and-coming driver. Things did not work out at the time. However, he’s gone back to the drawing board and has built himself back up.

The move back to Our has been great so far. He has playoffs in his eyes and is hoping that he can steal a win on a superspeedway at some point this season. Alfredo just turned 25 at the end of March. He has a lot of time still, although motorsports is full of young talent.

Alfredo has even gotten another Cup Series opportunity with Beard Motorsports. A few races here and there to get his confidence up. Everything is really lining up for Fast Pasta this season, he just needs to capitalize.
