Oleksandr Usyk’s team has responded to concerns about the judging process for his upcoming fight against Tyson Fury. They have, assured that they have taken steps to ensure a fair fight.

The Ukrainian heavyweight champion is set to face Fury next month in Saudi Arabia, with the victor being crowned the first undisputed champion of the division since Lennox Lewis in 1999. Turki Alalshikh, Saudi’s boxing ringmaster, has openly expressed his desire to see Fury take on Anthony Joshua for all four belts.

Despite this, Usyk’s team remains confident that their fight will be judged fairly, having had input on the selection of judges and referee. Promoter Alex Krassyuk, speaking to World Boxing News, said: “His Excellency mentioned that British fighters were the best in the world, but he omitted the fact that the future Undisputed Heavyweight Champion had a Ukrainian passport.

He added: “Mr Alalshikh is a great, honourable man and a big fan of boxing. It is his right to choose his favourite in the biggest fight of the century.

“We respect him a lot and trust that this boxing match will be contested at the highest level of integrity and sportsmanship. However, we have taken care of the selection of the officials. It will be made on mutual approval.”

Fury is more than ready for Joshua, although Usyk still stands in their way at least for now. “Yeah, for sure – if he keeps going and keeps winning, like I’m going to keep doing,” said the Gypsy King.

He even proposed the idea of a veteran showdown at Wembley with AJ, jokingly adding: “Either way, me and AJ could still fight at Wembley if we were 50 years old and still make a s*** ton of money. I think that’s facts for sure.”

To reinforce his point, Fury reckons he still has a decade worth of fights left before quitting. He laid out his plans excitedly: “We’ve talked about 10 more fights and that’s the aim,” he stated.

“I’m not even 36 yet so I’ll go to 40, all these fighters go to 40. If they can line them up quickly I’ll do them. I can get the best out of me when I have two, three, four fights on the spin. If they can do it, fantastic.”

Reeling off a list of potential opponents, which may include facing some for multiple times, Fury mapped out his future path. “I’ll do Usyk, Usyk, AJ, AJ – if he doesn’t get beat in the meantime – so that’s four.

“Then I’ll do Daniel Dubois and Joe Joyce, then Joseph Parker, that’s seven. Then I’ll go to America and chuck in an American, maybe Deontay Wilder for a fourth time. Maybe a European, an Agit Kabayel. Then for the 10th I’ll probably do a trilogy with Usyk.”
