MINNEAPOLIS — All of the Twins’ existing Minor League managers will remain in the organization for the 2022 season, while much of the player development personnel and leadership will stay in place, according to the official Minor League staff announcements made Wednesday morning.

Toby Gardenhire (Triple-A St. Paul), Ramon Borrego (Double-A Wichita), Brian Dinkelman (High-A Cedar Rapids) and Brian Meyer (Low-A Fort Myers) will all return to their roles as managers of the Twins’ top four affiliates. Every coach on those four staffs had been in the organization during the 2021 season.

Seth Feldman will move up to manage Minnesota’s affiliate in the Rookie-level Florida Complex League after serving as manager of the Dominican Summer League squad last season, filling the role of Takashi Miyoshi, who will become Meyer’s bench coach in Fort Myers. Rafael Martinez will join the organization to helm the DSL team.

Alex Hassan will serve as the Twins’ director of player development for the third straight season, with Drew MacPhail and Tommy Bergjans remaining as assistant directors of player development.

For the third consecutive year, all six of the Twins’ Minor League affiliates will carry two pitching coaches, including one who is bilingual in English and Spanish.

In addition to the field staff assignments, the Twins announced as part of their coordinator positions that Kevin Morgan will return to his previous role as Minor League field coordinator after serving as part of manager Rocco Baldelli’s Major League staff last season. Edgar Varela, who served as a co-hitting coach from 2020-21, will also stay in the organization as coordinator of instruction.

Fellow coordinators Justin Willard (pitching), Zach Bove (assistant pitching), Nat Ballenberg (special projects pitching), Tucker Frawley (infield/catching) and Mike Quade (outfield) will all return for another season, with former Cedar Rapids hitting coach Bryce Berg moving into the hitting coordinator role.
