Former cruiserweight champion Johnny Nelson believes Tyson Fury’s long awaited fight with Oleksandr Usyk will be decided via a controversial decision. Fury and Usyk will finally meet in the ring in Saudi Arabia next month, when they do battle in Saudi Arabia.

The heavyweight title bout was initially set to take place in February, but was postponed until May after Fury suffered a severe cut on the eye whilst sparring in preparation. With the fight now growing ever closer, Nelson believes the ending of the clash is going to be a dramatic one.

Writing for Sky Sports, Nelson said: “I had a dream and Tyson Fury was in this dream. I’m trying to understand what I saw. It was controversial and Tyson Fury was not happy.

“I don’t know if that meant Tyson Fury won controversially or Tyson lost controversially, but I know there is a controversial decision with this fight.  Mark that down! Tyson was p***** off, I don’t know if he lost or won controversially. But there is going to be controversy!”

The fight will see a clash of differing personalities, with Fury his usual boisterous self during the pre-fight media duties, whilst as expected, Usyk has remained calm and collective. As a result, Nelson believes this approach by the Ukrainian could well work in his favour, by getting under the skin of the Gypsy King.

“Tyson Fury, what he does, he plays the fool to catch the wise like he did with Wladimir Klitschko,” he added. “Klitschko disrespected him, undermined him, thought he was an idiot, a clown.

“He gets in their face, he bullies them, he abuses them so they get angry and so they aren’t using their brain… With Usyk the problem is it’s being lost in translation, so Tyson is finding it very hard to intimidate Oleksandr Usyk…

“Even if Usyk could understand him, he’s playing ignorant as though he can’t, and to me that is rattling Tyson because he needs an edge. He needs to get the edge over an opponent, and that’s what has worked all throughout his career, he’s brilliant at it.”

The bout next month is one of the most eagerly anticipated bouts in years, with the crown of undisputed heavyweight champion of the world at stake. In total six titles will be on the line in the Middle East, with the  WBA (Super), WBC, IBF, WBO, IBO and The Ring heavyweight titles on offer.
