Courtney Vandersloot had 17 points and nine assists for the Chicago Sky (3-7) as they snapped a seven-game losing streak by defeating the Indiana Fever (1-10) 92-76 on Wednesday night at Wintrust Arena in Chicago.
The Sky used a 25-12 first quarter to build their lead. The Fever cut it to four twice in the final 2:29 of the third, but Chicago closed the frame on a 7-0 run. Allie Quigley made a 3-pointer with a minute before the fourth and Vandersloot scored the final four points of the third. The closest Indiana got in the fourth was within eight.
Candace Parker returned from an ankle injury for the Sky to play in her first game since the team’s opener on May 15. The Sky won that opener with 16 points, eight rebounds and four assists coming from Parker. Chicago won its second game of the season as well, but went 1-7 without Parker. She had three points and five rebounds in just under 18 minutes on Wednesday.

Kelsey Mitchell scored a game-high 24 points in defeat while Tiffany Mitchell added 20 and and six rebounds for Indiana.
Chicago had 10 players reach the scoring column with seven scoring nine or more. Stefani Dolson notched 12 points and six boards.

Seattle Storm (8-2) over Atlanta Dream (4-5), 95-71
After leading by just two at halftime, the Storm pulled away by winning the third 24-18 and the fourth 26-10. Jewell Loyd led the team with 18 points, while Breanna Stewart stuffed the stat sheet with 15 points, nine rebounds, five assists and two blocks. Stephanie Talbot (13 points), Mercedes Russell (11), Sue Bird (11) and Katie Lou Samuelson (10) were all in double figures as well with Bird dishing out six assists.
Tiffany Hayes had 22 points and Elizabeth Williams had 12 rebounds in defeat.
