Tiger Woods suffered multiple leg injuries after being involved in a high speed car accident on February 23
Tiger Woods has returned to his home in Florida to continue his recovery from the injuries he sustained following the car crash that took place in Los Angeles on February 23.
The 45 year old needed surgery after suffering a fractured leg and shattered ankle in the crash. Following the operation the 15-time major champion was moved to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for follow-up procedures on 27 February.
On Wednesday he tweeted: “Happy to report that I am back home continuing my recovery. Thank you to the incredible surgeons, doctors, nurses and staff at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. You have all taken such great care of me and I cannot thank you enough.
He added: “I am so grateful for the outpouring of support and encouragement that I have received over the past few weeks. I will be recovering at home and working on getting stronger everyday.”
Woods, who was recovering from back surgery at the time of the accident, was found unconscious with his face covered in blood at the scene. Los Angeles police said there was no evidence Woods had been impaired by drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash, although the precise details of how the accident happened have still not been revealed.
